Prosecutor's Office
The Prosecuting Attorney’s office represents the State of Indiana in all Felony and Misdemeanor criminal cases committed in Dearborn and Ohio counties. The Prosecuting Attorney and the deputies review police reports, evidence, and bring allegations of violations of Indiana Law to the court through official charges. Prosecuting Attorney’s are then responsible for presenting the case to the court through the criminal process with defense attorneys. A case can be resolved through a formal trial, a plea agreement or a dismissal of the case. In addition, the Prosecuting Attorney’s office handles child support. The role of the Attorney’s Office in Child Support is to help custodial parents locate parents, establish paternity, obtain financial support and medical insurance. The office also establishes support orders, collects child support payments and distributes them.
